The global engineering firm The Berger Group of Companies has acquired Ranger International Services Group (RISG), an aviation, logistics and engineering services company serving the Defense Department, government agencies and international customers.
Terms of the deal, which closed last week, were not disclosed. Berger Group acquired RISG from a consortium of private equity firms that included First New England Capital, Argosy Capital and Plexus Capital as well as Ranger Aerospace, a privately held investment and management holding company.
RISG, which is based in South Carolina, provides comprehensive airfield operations, maintenance, repair and overhaul services, base support, design engineering, and technical staffing solutions to government agencies and prime contractors supporting United States military and allied military missions globally.
“We seek to increase our capabilities in government operations contracting, overhaul and maintenance, airfield operations and specialized technical services,” Nicholas Masucci, CEO of Berger Group, said in a statement. “The strengths and global reach of our large company will greatly complement the capabilities of Ranger International, enabling them to provide enhanced services to clients around the world.”
RISG has been renamed Louis Berger Services, Inc. Houlihan Lokey was RISG’s financial adviser on the deal.
