General Dynamics [GD] has received a potential three-year, $24.8 million task order from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to manage the production of immigration credentials, including the agency’s Permanent Resident Cards (PRC) and the Transportation Security Agency Transportation Worker Identification Credential. The task order was made under the EAGLE contract. GD has worked with USCIS on secure identification cards, including PRCs, for over 10 years. GD began transitioning the PRC to more secure card technologies in 2008 and includes an optical stripe, an embedded RFID chip, holographic images, variable ink, laser engraved fingerprint and other technologies to prevent counterfeiting, obstruct tampering and enable quick authentication.
