General Dynamics [GD] Mission Systems has received a $296 million deal from the Army for the production of Prophet Enhanced ground-based signals intelligence and electronic warfare system, the Pentagon said Tuesday.
Prophet Enhanced is the latest version of the platform, which the Army has previously said it plans to integrate on its Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) All-Terrain Vehicles.
GD rolled out the first Prophet tactical ground stations in the early 2000s, and in the last several years built the Prophet Enhanced system including a Stryker-based configuration that was fielded in FY ‘19.
Work on the latest hybrid (cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price) contract is expected to be completed in June 2020.
“Prophet Enhanced is a non-platform-dependent, modular system that will allow easy integration onto a vehicle. Each sensor supports stationary, dismounted, on-the-move (mobile) and manpack operations. Prophet’s mobility and modularity allows supported units to easily reposition its collection capability based on evolving tactical situations,” the Army wrote in an earlier capability description.
The Army has stated its goal through FY ’23 is to modify 99 MRAP ATVs with Prophet Enhanced.
