Drawing from its bench, General Dynamics [GD] yesterday said it has appointed David Heebner, who is currently in charge of the company’s Combat Systems group, to become head of the Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) group, effective immediately.

Heebner, 68, takes over IS&T for Jerry DeMuro, who left GD last month to pursue other opportunities. Heebner became executive vice president and group executive for Combat Systems in May 2010;

Heebner will be succeeded at Combat Systems by Mark Roualet, 54, who is president of the Land Systems division within Combat Systems. Roualet has been president of Land Systems since October 2008.

Roualet will be succeeded by Gary Whited, 52, who has been senior vice president and general manager of Land Systems’ domestic operations since September 2011.

“David, Mark and Gary are seasoned executives who reflect the strength and breadth of the General Dynamics management team,” Phebe Novakovic, GD’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement.
