A team led by General Dynamics [GD] was awarded the Live Training Transformation (LT2) Consolidated Product-line Management (CPM) next contract worth $415 million by the U.S. Army, the company said on Monday.
The CPM Next award is a five-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.
Under the award, the GD team will extend management of the Army’s LT2 live training systems. This includes almost 300 international training ranges that scale from individual soldiers to brigades participating in live force-on-force and force-on-target training.
The contract “will help the Army continue to reduce the costs and complexity associated with maintaining its diverse portfolio of training systems,” GD said. The team will also integrate new training capabilities.
One contract provision encourages other Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security agencies to participate in the LT2 Product Line, to create and manage training products with the goal of cost-savings and overall training efficiencies.
“Over the past five years, General Dynamics has delivered exceptionally well on our promise to the Army, helping them to save hundreds of millions of dollars in training system sustainment and maintenance costs. The savings created an opportunity to fund investments in evolving and creating new capabilities across the Army’s global training enterprise,” Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics Mission Systems, said in a statement.
Team members aside from prime contractor General Dynamics include Assured Information Technology Engineering, Alion Science and Technology; Applied Research Associates, Inc.; Big Lever Software Inc.; Carley Corporation; Leidos [LDOS]; Madcap Software; nFocus Solutions; Phoenix Logistics, Inc.; Productivity APEX Inc.; Raytheon [RTN]; and Riptide Software, Inc.
