A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Delta IV rocket roared from Space Launch Complex 37 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. Saturday evening, to place a Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite, GOES-O, into orbit. Ironically, that liftoff of the weather-watching satellite earlier had been delayed by weather, pesky thunderstorms within 10 miles of the pad that menaced the rocket.
