Integrated Biometrics (IB) says that its TRU650 terminal fingerprint reader unit has been tested and approved by the Transportation Security Administration and place on the Biometrics Qualified Products List (QPL) for Access Control. “The combination of security and usability offered by our fingerprint imaging technology minimizes the need for other possession or knowledge-based tokens such as passwords or ID cards,” says Jim Seaborn, vice president of IB. The TRU650 has been evaluated by the National Safe Skies Alliance at Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airport in Tennessee and is slated for evaluation at Boston’s Logan International Airport early this year. The unit also features an integrated proximity card reader.
