Israeli energy company Delek Pi Glilot Limited Partnership chose Elbit System’s [ESLT] Cyberbit to provide its SCADAShield product to help protect critical infrastructure assets against cyber attacks, Elbit said Monday.
Elbit highlighted that industrial control networks use unique, legacy devices that use proprietary industrial control systems (ICS)/supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) protocols. These kinds of networks require specialized security technologies to protect against cyber attacks, the company said.
Cyberbit’s SCADAShield product provides multilayered information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) security to address the challenges of IT applications like Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) connecting with OT networks, Elbit said. Attackers can take advantage of that vulnerability to begin an attack in the IT network that acts as a gateway to the more sensitive OT network.
The company also said that it and Delek Pi Glilot intend to expand their collaboration and leverage Cyberbit’s whole security portfolio to address Delek’s long term cyber security strategy.
“With several Israeli security vendors operating in this space Cyberbit proved to be the best suited partner, providing cutting edge, home-grown IT and OT security products and a rich product portfolio to cover our future cyber security strategy,” said Moshe Karadi, CEO of Delek Pi Glilot Limited Partnership, said in a statement.
“Multi vector IT/OT attacks require a tightly integrated multi-layered solution and strategy, and I am happy to support Delek in driving this forward-thinking strategy within their organization,” Adi Dar, CEO of Cyberbit, added.
