ITT Exelis [XLS] yesterday said it has acquired a small United Kingdom-based company, Applied Kilovolts, which designs and produces high voltage power supplies for the scientific instrumentation market in Britain, Europe and the United States, in a small deal that expands the company’s non-government business.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Applied Kilovolts had $13.2 million in sales last year.
Applied Kilovolts will become part of the power solutions business within Exelis’ Geospatial Systems division.
“The acquisition of Applied Kilovolts extends our technical capability, global presence and customer base,” Ron Gordon, general manager of the Exelis power solutions business, said in a statement.
ITT Exelis had $5.8 billion in sales last year, with just 4 percent of that to commercial customers.
