The Department of Defense’s IT services agency has awarded Knight Point Systems a five-year contract extension worth nearly a billion dollars to continue supporting communication infrastructure services.
Under the new deal, awarded Feb. 15, the Reston, Va.-based software company will provide hardware and software equipment for Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) network communications support operations.
DISA awarded the new task order under its Communications Capacity Services Contract (CSC) II. The initial deal is worth $902 million, with the a minimum potential value of $1.5 billion if all five one-year options are picked up.
Knight Point Systems is responsible for implementing capabilities to support DoD communications, including routers, switches, appliances, monitoring equipment and reporting software.
DISA awarded the first CSC contract to Knight Point Systems in 2011 for $298 million.
