L-1 Gets DHS S&T Contract for Mobile Fingerprint Technology

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate, Human Factors Division, has awarded a research and development contract to L-1 Identity Solutions [ID] for next-generation technology for use in mobile four finger slap image capture devices. The value of the award was not disclosed. L-1 says its technology is "unique and proprietary...and will be used to develop new products with significantly reduced weight and size as compared to other mobile devices in the market today."
