L-3 Communications [LLL] says it has received $45 million in orders from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and $2.8 million from the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) for eXaminer 3DX explosives detection systems (EDS). The orders were placed last year. The CATSA order is the first for the eXaminer 3DX while TSA is adding to its installed base of over 600 eXaminer EDS systems. L-3 has a global installed base of over 900 eXaminer systems.
