Latvia Orders ThalesRaytheonSystems Sentinel Air Defense Radars

Latvia is procuring four Improved Sentinel AN/MPQ-64 F1 air defense radars from ThalesRaytheonSystems, the company said Wednesday.Sentinel is a mobile three-dimensional, phased-array radar system that operates in the X-band frequency range. The system is suitable for missions including air surveillance, air defense and missile systems coordination, homeland defense, and infrastructure protection, the company said.The system is able to detect helicopters, high-speed attack aircraft, cruise missiles, and UAVs, ThalesRaytheonSystems said on the product website.
