The Latvian Ministry of Defence (MoD) purchased a new delivery of Spike anti-tank missiles on Feb. 12 for $134.3 million.
EuroSpike GmbH will produce a variety of the fourth and fifth generation electro-optical Spike missile systems for the Latvia MoD, designed to improve its military’s high-precision and high-lethality capabilities.
Spike missile systems are developed by Israeli defense company Rafael Advanced Systems, and sales to European countries are facilitated through the German EuroSpike GmbH subsidiary.
Subcontractors on the new deal with Latvia’s MoD include Diehl Defense GmbH & Co. KG and Rheinmetall Defense Electronics GmbH.
Over 29,000 Spike missiles, which can be integrated on aerial, vehicular and naval platforms, have been supplied to 29 countries.
