Leidos [LDOS] and Fortinet [FTNT] signed a partnership agreement allowing Leidos to act as an expert service provider for the Fortinet Security Fabric portfolio, Leidos said Tuesday.
Under this agreement Leidos will become the largest managed security service provider (MSSP) organization authorized to offer the Fortinet Security Information Event Management (FortiSIEM) services. FortiSIEM is geared towards federal government agency and Fortune 1000 customers, Leidos said.
FortiSIEM services will combine the capabilities of security operations centers and network operations centers into a unified Security Information and Event Monitoring product. This agreement provides actionable analytics and allows information technology (IT) to tightly managed network security, performance, and compliance across customers’ global infrastructures, Leidos said.
“We are very pleased and excited to partner with Fortinet at a time when it is critical to have the right technologies and resources to combat a fluid cyber threat landscape. Combing the Fortinet suite of technologies with Leidos’ cyber expertise allows us to provide comprehensive cybersecurity services to protect our customers in today’s threat environment,” president of Leidos’ subsidiary Leidos Cyber Inc., Bob Meindl, said in a statement.
Phil Quade, Fortinet’s chief information security officer, added “we’re excited to partner with Leidos and work together with their leading security professionals to protect our joint customers against an increasingly hostile threat landscape.”
Leidos also noted it and Fortinet are both part of the U.S. General Services Administration Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Services (MTIPS) program. MTIPS aims to allow federal agencies to physically and logically connect to the public internet and other external connections in compliance with the Office of Management and Budget’s Trusted Internet Connection Initiative.
