The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic awarded Leidos [LDOS] a contract worth up to $50 million to provide environmental planning and mission operations support for U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, the company said on Monday.
This is a single-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with a performance period over five years ending in 2020.
Leidos is to manage National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for proposed infrastructure actions with respect to aircraft home basing issues.
The contract responsibilities include analysis of home basing of aircraft; construction, renovation, and demolition services of airfield facilities and infrastructure; base realignment and closure actions; and proposed operational actions related to aircraft home basing.
The contract task regions are mainly in NAVFAC Atlantic’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) and adjacent waters in the United States, Caribbean, Europe and North Africa. However, tasks may be assigned anywhere globally.
“For more than 30 years, Leidos has supported Department of Defense clients with our full-spectrum environmental services, including compliance, planning and restoration. Our broad range of experience and capabilities will support aircraft mission readiness, while ensuring environmental protection into the future,” Laura Obloy, senior vice president and operations manager for the Environmental Science and Engineering Operation at Leidos, said in a statement.
