Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking industry partners for the licensing of its technology called UltraSpec: Ultrahigh-Energy Resolution Gamma and Fast Neutron Spectrometer. UltraSpec is a new analytical tool for examining nuclear materials non-destructively. The technology can be used to characterize and identify gamma-ray or neutron sources quickly. Moreover, LLNL says UltraSpec can be used to determine the composition of nuclear materials through shielding, and it can identify the shielding materials or light-element inclusions from the associated spectral details. LLNL says the technology can provide nuclear scientists and technicians, security officials and first responders an automated instrument with high precision capability for gamma and neutron analysis. Sol. No. FBO161-08. Respond by Dec. 28. Contact: Connie Pitcock, administration, 925-422- 1072, [email protected].
