Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking industry partners for the licensing of its technology called UltraSpec: Ultrahigh-Energy Resolution Gamma and Fast Neutron Spectrometer. UltraSpec is a new analytical tool for examining nuclear materials non-destructively. The technology can be used to characterize and identify gamma-ray or neutron sources quickly. Moreover, LLNL says UltraSpec can be used to determine the composition of nuclear materials through shielding, and it can identify the shielding materials or light-element inclusions from the associated spectral details.…
