Israel’s Elbit Systems [ESLT] said its Elisra Electronic Systems subsidiary was awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin [LMT] Canada worth about $55 million to supply Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment for the Canadian Navy’s Halifax Frigate Modernization program.
“Elisra takes great pride in the decision of Lockheed Martin Canada to select Elisra over others in industry,” Itzhak Gat, Elisra’s CEO said May 7.
Gat added that he expects that the introduction of the new systems will bring about future contracts in the EW field worldwide.
Elisra said its systems were selected in the competition after meeting the strict standards and challenges required by the customer. The company has a longstanding relationship with Lockheed Martin Canada.
Elbit owns 70 percent of Elisra, with the remainder controlled by Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) Elta Systems subsidiary.
