Lockheed Martin [LMT] on Nov. 25 said it completed its acquisition of the hypersonics portfolio of Integration Innovation Inc. (i3), expanding its capabilities in hypersonic weapon systems.
Lockheed Martin also named Mike Wicks, the former CEO of i3, as vice president of the Hypersonic Engineering & Accelerated Technologies program within the Hypersonic Strike Portfolio of Lockheed Martin Space.
Terms of the deal, which was first announced in October, were not disclosed.
I3 is based in Huntsville, Ala., and has expertise in thermal protection system design, and development and manufacturing for several hypersonic programs.
Hypersonic weapons are a top priority for the Defense Department.
