Lockheed Martin [LMT] announced on June 13 a new commercial cyber partnership with Interset Software for a joint insider threat detection solution.
“Interset’s unique, market-proven approach to User Behavioral Analytics (UBA) complements our Wisdom® Insider Threat Identification’s (ITI’s) award-winning capabilities. Interset’s depth in the UBA market and big data approach to detecting insider threats makes them an ideal fit for Lockheed Martin,” Angie Heise, vice president of Lockheed Martin for commercial cyber, said at the 2016 Gartner Risk and Security Summit conference held in National Harbor, Md.
Lockheed Martin’s commercial cyber business unit specializes in developing, implementing, maintaining, and securing critical infrastructures for Fortune 1000 and Global 1000 companies. Its approach is based on an “Intelligence Driven Defense” philosophy, focusing on using information from attempted attackers to be used back against them, the company said.
The Interset Threat Detection Platform uses machine learning, patented predictive analytics, and risk-based scoring to automate the process of sifting through terabyts of event data to detect and find real insider threats, Lockheed Martin said.
“Lockheed Martin has built the definitive, proactive solution to combat insider threats, which remain the most common type of attack on sensitive data,” Interset CEO Dale Quayle, said.
“Combining Lockheed Martin’s Wisdom® ITI solution and Interset’s UBA platform gives customers unprecedented ability to correlate human behavior and IT systems behavior, to offer a complete insider risk picture across employees, consultants and contractors,” he added.
