Lockheed Martin [LMT] yesterday named Rob Weiss to lead the company’s Aeronautics Advanced Development Programs (ADP), also known as the Skunk Works.
Weiss previously led Advanced Strike and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance programs for Lockheed Martin’s Aeronautics segment. In this role, he “demonstrated his ability to run a complex organization focused on capturing and executing a set of major emerging opportunities and programs,” Orlando Carvalho, executive vice president of Aeronautics, said in a statement. “He has proven he has the right background and experience to lead ADP into the future.”

Weiss’ new title is executive vice president and general manager of ADP. He has also served in a number of other roles within Aeronautics, including as executive vice president and general manager of Aeronautics Operations, executive vice president for Global Sustainment, and vice president of Business Development.
Lockheed Martin also announced several other leadership roles within ADP. Al Romig will report to Weiss as vice president, ADP Engineering and Advanced Systems. Romig was previously head of ADP. Additionally, the company said John Larson is vice president, ADP Operations and Production Programs, and Ron Bessire is vice president, Program and Technology Integration.
