Lockheed Martin [LMT] on Feb. 22 received a $428 million U.S. Air Force contract for 400 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Munitions (JASSM) in Lot 19 and a $414 million contract for 137 AGM-158C Long Range Anti-Ship Missiles (LRASM) in Lots 4 and 5.
The latter is a foreign military sales (FMS) contract for Australia, which is to employ the LRASMs on its Boeing [BA] F/A-18 aircraft.
Australia has been looking to buy up to 200 of the LRASM.
The new contracts appear to be in line with comments from Lockheed Martin Chief Financial Officer Kenneth Possenriede who said late last year that he expected that JASSM and LRASM would help drive sales growth for the company this year (Defense Daily, Oct. 20, 2020).
