Lockheed Martin [LMT] on Wednesday said it has picked Tim Cahill to head its Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Segment, effective Nov. 1, succeeding Scott Greene who has led the $11 billion business area since 2019 and announced earlier this month that he will retire at the end of 2022.
Cahill, who joined Lockheed Martin in 1995 following a career as an Air Force Officer, is currently senior vice president of the company’s Global Business Development & Strategy, bringing integrated solutions to customers. He previously was senior vice president for Lockheed Martin International and served as vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems for MFC.
Cahill also worked at Lockheed Martin’s Space business area.
The MFC segment manages a wide range of programs including the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, PAC-2, Medium Extended Air Defense System, and others.
“Tim is a strategic leader with the right combination of experience to enable the future growth of our Missiles and Fire Control business,” Frank St. John, Lockheed Martin’s chief operating officer, said in a statement. “He is knowns for building strong, collaborative relationships with team members and customers alike.”
Greene, a 41-year veteran of Lockheed Martin, will spend the last two months of 2022 advising St. John to ensure a smooth transition at MFC.
