The Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin [LMT] an $84.5-million contract to provide laser guided training rounds for the Paveway II weapon system.

The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract covers deliveries through 2018 of the Enhanced Laser Guided Training Rounds, or ELGTR.

ELGTR are designed to simulate cockpit indications, release and terminal characteristics of the Paveway II laser guided weapon systems without requiring the use of using actual bombs, the company said.

The ELGTRs are compatible with the F/A-18, AV-8B and F-16 fighters, Lockheed Martin said.
