Israel’s Magal Security Systems [MAGS] yesterday said it has acquired Tel Aviv-based WebSilicon Ltd. in a deal aimed at expanding its cyber security offerings.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Magal said the deal fits with its new cyber strategy and will expand its offering to deliver integrated physical and cyber security solutions for critical infrastructure. Magal traditionally has provided customers with virtual and physical perimeter protection products, cameras, and security management software platforms. Now the company is offering its customers a more holistic solution to critical infrastructure security.
“Magal chose WebSilicon due to its strong executive and development team, as well as its successful product sales to intelligence and other cyber protection players,” Eitan Livneh, Magal’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “The founders’ experience and backgrounds will allow Magal to accelerate its efforts to be a leader in the convergence of physical and cyber security. WebSilicon will continue to support its existing customers and expand its presence in the network management and monitoring markets.”
WebSilicon has more than 60 customers in the telecom, datacom, security and intelligence markets.
