ManTech International [MANT] on Friday said it has agreed to acquire McDonald Bradley, Inc. (MBI), an information technology (IT) solutions provider to the federal government, for $76.5 million in cash, giving it access to new customers and markets.
MBI, which is based in Northern Virginia, expects to have over $50 million in sales this year. The company’s largest customer is the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and 60 percent of its sales come from the defense, intelligence and homeland security markets. MBI is a prime contractor on the Department of Homeland Security’s EAGLE contract for the procurement of IT services.
“The MBI acquisition strengthens our position as a leading provider of secure information sharing and data interoperability solutions in the national security marketplace,” Robert Coleman, president and chief operating officer of ManTech, said in a statement. “We expect to see immediate benefits from our combined capabilities in the intelligence community and particularly DIA where we have worked as a team supporting some of their most mission-critical programs.”
MBI has four core competencies: service oriented enterprise; data interoperability; information assurance; and enterprise management and governance.
The deal is expected to close later this year subject to regulatory approval. ManTech said the deal would be accretive to earnings next year.
MBI has 270 employees, two-thirds of which hold security clearances and 45 percent of which have top secret or above clearances. MBI’s management and staff will remain with ManTech.
