MBDA Signs Memo To Supply Qatar With Coastal Defense System

MBDA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Qatar to supply a coastal defense system for the Qatar Emiri Naval Force (QENF), allowing for a $725 million contract in the short term, the company said March 30.The coastal defense system will allow the QENF to monitor maritime coastal traffic and prevent hostile ships from reaching and threatening Qatar’s territorial waters.MBDA highlighted the coastal defense system can deploy two munitions: Exocet MM40 Block 3 and Marte ER (extended…
