The Navy is shoring the capabilities of its Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Pacific (SSC) with a new $27 million contract to ManTech International Corporation [MANT] to continue providing support services for its command and control systems.
The recompete contract, announced Tuesday, retains ManTech’s services to support SSC Pacific’s Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems for three years. The new deal includes two one-year option periods, bringing the total potential value of the contract to $46 million.
“This award builds on ManTech’s 12 years of successful support to TDSC developing and providing training across the C4ISR enterprise to the U.S. Navy,” said Daniel Keefe, president and COO of the company’s Mission Solutions & Services group, in a statement. “ManTech’s full spectrum approach to C4ISR sets the industry benchmark for excellence in preparing and sustaining American naval superiority in today’s digital combat zone.”
Under the deal, ManTech is tasked with providing training development for C4ISR systems, including implementing virtualized system technology training tools.
“There is major demand for well-trained cyber warriors, and ManTech is helping SPAWAR meet this important mission,” a ManTech spokesperson told Defense Daily.
ManTech plans on sending training to Navy ships and outposts to evaluate current training systems, and integrate tools needed to improve capabilities on the latest C4ISR systems.
The Navy awarded the recompete deal to ManTech on Sept. 15.
