Japan's NEC Corp. has established the NEC Biometrics Excellence Center in Bangalore, India, as part of an effort to accelerate the expansion of its global multimodal identification solutions and integrated security solutions business. Establishment of the new center is the first step in the company's mid-term growth plan that targets growth in its public safety business. The center will support all of NEC's biometrics efforts worldwide. NEC recently established a cloud computing competence center in Spain.
