The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) on Tuesday selected Orbital Insight for up to $2 million in funding for a new maritime domain awareness effort based on using commercial analytics. The award for the pilot funding under Project Aegir is NGA’s first using a Commercial Solutions Opening, a rapid approach to acquiring and piloting commercial capabilities, and follows by just over two months the release of the solicitation (Defense Daily, May 6).
