Northrop Grumman Unveils Firebird Optionally Manned ISR Plane

By Marina Malenic Military users will be able to simultaneously receive real-time high-definition video, view infrared imagery, use radar and listen in on communications signals using a new Northrop Grumman [NOC] intelligence-gathering aircraft system. Firebird offers a large internal payload bay and an ability to operate multiple intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) and communications payloads simultaneously through a universal interface, according to a statement released by the company. The system can be flown by a pilot in the cockpit or remotely.…
