Northrop Grumman [NOC] has been selected for the modernization and sustainment of the Defense Department’s joint command and control (C2) system designed to provide information to the chain of command.
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) awarded an initial $58 million for the baseline year of the work on the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) with options that could reach total value of $211 million over the next five years, Northrop Grumman said.
The GCCS-J program includes modernizing system using open and common architecture standards, accelerating the integration of new capabilities while reducing life cycle costs.
Northrop Grumman is to conduct systems engineering, security engineering, development and sustainment of applications for situational awareness, force protection, C2 and intelligence.
