OSI Systems [OSIS] says its Rapiscan Systems division has received a $27 million contract from an international government agency to supply multiple Rapiscan Eagle Mobile Cargo and Vehicle Inspection Systems. OSI expects the systems to ship in its current fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2009. The customer for the order, which includes installation, warranty service and other charges provided by the company’s local distributor, wasn’t disclosed. The systems are expected to be installed at land border crossings for the inspection of inbound and outbound cargo for duty evasion and contraband. The Eagle X-Ray system can produce high-resolution images of a 20-foot container in less than 10 seconds.
