AE Industrial Partners (AEI) on Monday said it has acquired Adcole Maryland Aerospace

(AMA), designer, developer and manufacturer of spacecraft components and small satellites, adding a space technology company to its portfolio.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. AMA was part of Adcole Corp., a portfolio company of Artemis Capital Partners.

“We have been impressed by AMA’s tenure, reputation, and respected flight heritage in the space industry, and we are excited to partner with a truly premier supplier of mission critical technologies,” Kirk Konert, a partner at AEI, said in a statement. “AMA represents the first company of AEI’s space technology platform, which will serve the growing demand from both the U.S. government and the commercial market for space and satellite vehicles.”

AMA is based in Massachusetts.

AEI said that AMA’s core capabilities are in the design and manufacture of high reliability optical sensors for satellites providing guidance, navigation, situational awareness, and control capabilities. Products include sun sensors, star trackers and star cameras.
