RedXDefense has launched a new system based on its XPAK portable trace explosives detection device that includes the i-MODULE data logging tool and Spotlight software for the visualization and analysis of this data. The i-MODULE is a hardware device that is mounted on the handheld XPAK and allows users to keep and record samples with barcode and GPS data and post-operation forensic analysis. The data can be downloaded into the software and plotted to map where hot, warm and cold traces were collected and then analyzed for patterns of activity. Once the data has been plotted, each spot of activity that has been logged can be clicked on to obtain any data associated with the collection of the trace samples at a particular location. The system has been used for evaluation in Iraq and Afghanistan under a contract with the Pentagon’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency (TR2, Feb. 4, 2009). Now RedX is launching XPAKi for potential new customers.
