Rockwell Collins [COL] on Friday said it has agreed to acquire United Kingdom-based SEOS, a global provider of visual display solutions for commercial and military flight simulators, in a deal that boosts the company’s capabilities in the simulation business.
“Their state-of-the-art displays, coupled with our industry-leading image generators, create a fully integrated visual system that is truly greater than the sum of its parts,” Clay Jones, chairman, president and CEO of Rockwell Collins Chairman, said in a statement. “The addition of SEOS’ innovative displays to our simulation and training offering further enhances our ability to deliver a highly realistic training experience to our commercial and military customers.”
Rockwell Collins said that having SEOS as a part of its operations will allow it to improve the overall system design of its simulators.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Rockwell Collins said the deal will close in about a month and would not be material to its FY ’09 earnings.
SEOS has about 150 employees. The company does design, development, production, installation and support for simulators. SEOS has facilities in the U.K. and in Florida.
