Saab said July 7 it was awarded a $10.9 Million Training Systems order from the U.S. Army for radio systems to improve communication capabilities during live training exercises.
Saab received an additional order for the Live Training Transformation Interim Range System (LT2-IRS) contract by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office of Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).
The current contract is for ranges at Fort Lewis-McChord, Wash., and Grafenwoehr, Germany.
Under the LT2-IRS contract, Saab is fielding communication network systems for a total value of up to $67 million so soldiers can engage in instrumented force on force training at the home stations.
“Saab’s continued partnership and commitment to our U.S. Army customer is key to providing a stable product line to support US Army Live Training for years to come.” said Cyndi Turner, Vice President and General Manager of the Saab Training and Simulation Business Unit.
