The Safariland Group, a portfolio company of the security consulting firm Kanders & Co., has acquired Mustang Survival, a manufacturer of protective products and equipment primarily for law enforcement and the military.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition provides Safariland with an entrance into the marine and aviation markets.
Mustang Survival, which is based in Canada, makes inflatable personal flotation devices, flotation clothing, dry suits, anti-g suits and a wide range of products to protect serious users in extreme environments.
Mustang’s senior leadership will remain with the company.
The Mustang deal is the second acquisition by Safariland this year. Earlier this month the company acquired a Lithuania-based body armor manufacturer (Defense Daily, March 6).
