Sagem Morpho has joined the Center for Identification Technology Research (CITer), becoming the first biometric technology company to become an affiliate member of the cooperative research center that is based at West Virginia University. “We feel we have an important role to play in CITer as a biometric technology company, completing the circle between academies generating ideas, prime integrating the core technology, and the end user,” says Bernard Gautier, Sagem’s CEO. CITeR is a National Science Foundation Industry and University Cooperative Research Center focused on serving its affiliates in the area of biometric identification and Credibility Assessment Technology. Other affiliates include Booz Allen Hamilton, Computer Sciences Corp. [CSC], Lockheed Martin [LMT], Northrop Grumman [NOC], Raytheon [RTN], Science Applications International Corp. [SAI], the Defense Department, FBI, National Security Agency and others. Sagem is a division of France’s SAFRAN Group.
