Science Applications International Corp. [SAI]<E> has received two task orders worth a combined $25 million from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), one to support emergency communications and the other to support catastrophic earthquake preparedness. A potential $13 million task order from the DHS National Communications System to provide continued system engineering and program management expertise to help transition legacy communications systems to next generation network technology. The task order has a one-year base period and a one-year option. The other task order, potentially worth $12 million, calls for SAIC to design and support national level exercises to evaluate catastrophic earthquake preparedness. The task order was awarded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency National Exercise Division had has a five- month base period and a one-year option. These exercises help evaluate emerging needs and identify national-level challenges. SAIC will provide exercise design support and will help conduct exercises nationally.
