Science Applications International Corp. [SAIC] on Tuesday said it is one of the recipients of a prime contract for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) EAGLE II multiple award contract for information technology services that was expanded last month to 68 companies.
SAIC said that the contract was awarded to Leidos [LDOS], which used to be part of SAIC, but will be novated to SAIC.
DHS last year selected 15 companies to compete for task orders under the unrestricted track of Functional Category I of EAGLE II but protests by a number of losing bidders led the department to reevaluate proposals on expand the awardee list to 68 companies (Defense Daily, May 12).
SAIC provided IT solutions to DHS under the first EAGLE contract.
SAIC and Leidos previously were part of the old SAIC, which spun the two new publicly traded companies off.
The overall value of the EAGLE II contract is $22 billion, covering three functional categories.
