The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said Thursday it notified Congress of a potential foreign military sale (FMS) to Saudi Arabia for the continuation of a Saudi National Guard modernization effort worth $4 billion.
The continuation of a United States-supported effort to modernize the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) would include: SANG operation, support and equipment and modernization program support, personnel training and training equipment, transportation and repair.
DSCA says the continuation of services under the SANG modernization program is an evolution of Saudi Arabia as an effective defense force with the advice, assistance, and training of the U.S. Army.
The principal contractor will be Vinell Arabia, according to DSCA.
