Senate Approves New Army, Air Force Commanders

The Senate confirmed several military promotions Monday evening that will impact Army and Air Force commands.Army Lt. Gen. John M. Murray, who currently serves as deputy chief of staff for programs, G-8, was confirmed to assume the rank of general and become the first commander of the Army Futures Command, which is slated to open in Austin, Texas. The command began operations on July 1, and is expected to reach full capacity by summer 2019, according to the service.Sens. Ted…
