The Army has issued a multiple award five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract with an overall ceiling value of $4.1 billion to 12 companies to provide global communication systems for the service.

The companies to compete for task orders are: Serco Inc.; L-3 National Security Solutions Inc.,[LLL]; Globecomm Systems Inc.,; Harris [HRS];General Dynamics’ [GD] One Source; DRS Technical ServicesBooz Allen Hamilton [BAH]; Computer Sciences Corp. [CSC]; Intelligent Decisions Inc.; Lockheed Martin [LMT]; AT&T Government Solutions Inc. [T]; and LGS Innovations LLC.

Army Contracting Command-Rock Island is the contractor for the work. Funding will be determined at the task order level.

In a statement issued on Oct. 7, Serco said it would provide design, procurement, installation and testing services in support of delivering global, mission-critical communication systems. 

The company will use its experience in the areas of engineering, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and lifecycle management services to provide a more secure, operational, and sustainable network communications solutions for the United States’ expeditionary warfighters.

Serco currently provides communication system solutions to the Air Force and Navy.
