Sigma Defense on Monday said it has acquired EWA Inc., a small developer and provider of electronic warfare (EW) products and services, enhancing its ability to provide combined joint all domain command and control (CJADC2) solutions to its customers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. EWA, which is based in Northern Virginia, has about 250 employees. Sigman Defense, a portfolio company of Sagewind Capital
, now has nearly 800 employees.
Sigma Defense, which is based in Perry, Ga., maintains a software-focused approach to delivering CJADC2 capabilities, including DevSecOps. The company also provides communications and networking devices, and related appliances.
The combination of EWA’s diverse product portfolio and Sigma Defense’s DevSecOps capabilities will help the company “provide more powerful tools for faster, more effective CJADC2 decision making,” a Sigma Defense spokesman told Defense Daily.
“The electromagnetic spectrum is a critical source of signature data that must be collected, analyzed, distributed, and acted on with speed, the same as all other elements of CJADC2,” Matt Jones, CEO of Georgia-based Sigma Defense, said in a statement. “Understanding the full impact of EW attack and countermeasures is a critical component against a near peer adversary, so the alignment between EWA and Sigma Defense was a natural fit that accelerates our ability to deliver new solutions for our customers.”
EWA’s financial adviser on the deal was KippsDeSanto & Co.
