SOS International, LLC (SOSi) on Wednesday said it has acquired Vykin Corp., a small veteran-owned company that provides communications, intelligence and information technology support to the Defense Department and intelligence community.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
SOSi, which is based in Northern Virginia, said the acquisition of Florida-based Vykin makes it one of the few mid-tier companies that is certified by the National Security Agency to integrate commercial network solutions in classified national security systems environment. It also said the deal positions it with a prime slot on the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Enhanced Solutions for the IT Enterprise and a National Geospatial Agency contract supporting its Scaled Agile Framework Enterprise and cloud development requirements.
SOSi said the acquisition also puts it on a DoD program for digital information sharing and communications with allies.
The acquisition “strengthens our current IT and network engineering qualifications and makes us responsible for developing the DoD’s mission partner environment, which facilitates communications with our international allies around the globe,” Julian Setian, SOSi’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
SOSi also said the deal strengthens its capabilities in cloud development supporting command and control and intelligence systems.
Vykin supports its customers in operational environments in the U.S., Europe and Southwest Asia.
