Sotera Defense Solutions last month acquired Software Process Technologies, Inc. (SPT), a small software engineering firm that supports the cyber missions of its customers in the intelligence community.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Sotera said that SPT, which is based near Ft. Meade, Md., doubles its presence in that area. Ft. Meade is home to the National Security Agency and United States Cyber Command.
SPT’s solutions help its customers collect, transform and analyze data.
“By being part of the Sotera team, we can combine capabilities in cyber intelligence, cyber operations, counterterrorism and C4ISR to offer even greater support to our customers and expanded opportunities for our employees,” Christine Dockstader, founder, president and CEO of SPT, said in a statement. Dockstader will remain with the company and continue to lead Software Process Technologies.
SPT has 140 employees and expects to have $35 million in sales this year. Sotera, which is a portfolio company of the private equity firm Ares Management, expects to have more than $320 million in sales this year.
Houlihan Lokey served as SPT’s financial adviser on the deal.
