The U.S. Space Force last week asked feedback on missile warning, missile defense, and space-based weather support for its Space Operations Command (SpOC) as the service develops an acquisition strategy for a new contract.

The Request for Information (RFI) for Missile Warning and Missile Defense (MWMD) Support covers requirements to support space-based missile warning, weather, and space-based environment monitoring (SBEM), ground-based radar for missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness, and other related support.

The Space Force is also seeking help with requirements and architectural development, program planning, and logistics support.

The SpOC Missile Warning/Missile Tracking Mission Area Team has primary responsibility for the Space Force’s missions that the RFI is seeking feedback on.

“This is accomplished by operating space systems, providing support from space to terrestrial forces, operating ballistic missile warning forces as a deterrent against nuclear attack, providing assured MW, MD, SDA, and Weather/SBEM capabilities,” the RFI says.

Responses are due by April 23.

The incumbent contractor is Odyssey Systems Consulting Group.
