The State Department has approved a possible $75 million deal with the U.K. for Phalanx Baseline 2 Radar Upgrade Kits.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the potential foreign military sale on Sept. 19.
The U.K. has requested 50 MK 15 Phalanx Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) Block IB Baseline 2 Upgrade Kits for close-in ship self-defense against air and surface threats onboard the country’s naval combatants and auxiliaries.
Under the deal, the U.K. would also receive support equipment, test equipment, initial spare parts, technical documentation, training, engineering technical assistance, and other related elements of logistics and program support.
The prime contractor for the deal is Raytheon [RTN].
