System Planning Corp. has entered a licensing agreement to offer the Powers International Powers-Secured Chain-of-Custody feature on its GlobalTrak asset tracking and monitoring system. The chain-of-custody system identifies and records the person supervising the stuffing of the container, electronically connecting the cargo to a specific container, detecting and recording any access to it while in transit, and, at its destination, identifies the authorized person supervising stripping, the companies say. The system essentially verifies whether the person responsible for stuffing or stripping the container is authorized to do so or not. The system provides compliance with customs programs around the world, including the U.S., Canada, European Union, Jordan and New Zealand. GlobalTrak helps with supply chain management and security, offering security, cargo condition monitoring, in-transit visibility, automatic identification and mobile inventory management via radio frequency identification, and chain-of-custody security and authentication.
